Hurricane Ike Aftermath

Galveston County (not the city of Galveston):
We are safe! As you can see, our yard was torn up pretty bad. However, there was no damage done to the house and we didn't have any flooding. We lost our power at about 10:00 on Friday night and got our power back on at about 8:30 Sunday morning. It was very uncomfortable but we did survive. One of our dogs started showing early signs of heat stroke at one point but we gathered up all our dogs and sat in the car with the air conditioner blowing full blast for a few hours.

Rebekah, glad that you are safe. That must have been very frightening. My aunt was sent to Louisiana with the Red Cross for Gustav relief, and ended up helping with evacuations for Ike, too.

Rebekah,
Miss ya... Glad you are safe, and I totally would help if I was there. It looks like you are close to the water?

Happy Stitching :)

Very glad your animals are ok... as well...
and that the house suffered no damage... because that can be very costly...
