Some Creatures in My Yard


This is a Monarch Caterpiller munching away on some Butterfly Weed.


Here is one in it's chrysalis. As you can see, it's almost ready to emerge. I missed it when he/she hatched so no adult butterfly photos. :(

Very cool. I don't pay attention enough to notice chrysalises (sp?) - and in Seattle, we didn't have a lot of actual butterflies. We had moths, and tent caterpillars. Not pretty or magnificent.
